During an overland journey from New York to Utah, a child became quite sick. Elders administered to the child through the power of the Priesthood, and the child was restored to health, with the company completing its journey without losing any members.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 48, No. 25, 21 June 1886, p. 395):
Having observed the many and interesting accounts of cases of healing, which from time to time have been inserted in the Star, I send you the following:– A child of Brother and Sister J. H. Kelson, of Salt Lake City, was taken very ill while on the cars between New York and this city. It was administered to by the Elders, and was restored to health, and the company arrived at their destination without the loss of a single member.
In Their Own Words
“One child was quite sick, but through the blessing of the Lord attending the action of the Priesthood, the child was restored, and we reached our destinations without losing any members of the company. — Millennial Star 48:25”
