Healing of an Unnamed Child in Auchengray

A six-year-old child of a family that had recently joined the Church in the Auchengray Branch had been unable to speak or make articulate sounds since infancy due to sickness. After the parents were baptized and requested the ordinance of healing, Elders Eccles and Moses administered to the child. A few weeks later, the child could imitate words and be easily understood.

A six-year-old child of a family that had recently joined the Church in the Auchengray Branch had been unable to speak or make articulate sounds since infancy due to sickness. After the parents were baptized and requested the ordinance of healing, Elders Eccles and Moses administered to the child. A few weeks later, the child could imitate words and be easily understood.
In Their Own Words
“A child six years of age belonging to this family had through sickness when an infant become unable to speak. It was not capable of conveying its thoughts by making articulate sounds. When the parents were baptized and learned that the same blessings are enjoyed by the Saints now as formerly they requested the Elders to anoint the child with holy oil and administer the ordinance of healing. This was done on the regular fast-day. That evening Elders Eccles and Moses who performed the ordinance heard the child imitate words it heard, and now only a few weeks since it was blessed the child can be understood easily. — Millennial Star 57:31”
