Healing of an unnamed Catholic lady in Glasgow from inflammatory rheumatism

An unnamed lady, a member of the Catholic persuasion, was suffering from inflammatory rheumatism. Upon hearing from friends that the Latter-day Saint Elders used the anointing of oil and the prayer of faith for healing, she made an earnest application. After she was anointed and prayed for by the Elders, relief came to her almost instantly.

Fuller account of this event (as retold in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 51, No. 41, 14 October 1889, p. 654):

Two very remarkable cases of healing have occurred late in our midst—one of strangers, and another in the household of a member of the Catholic persuasion. They having heard from friends that we used anointing of oil and the prayer of faith for healing, made earnest application, claiming to have great faith, and their request was granted. Relief came almost instantly to a lady afflicted with inflammatory rheumatism. She acknowledged the same by letter, inviting us to hold meeting in her house, which we did, and the Spirit of God accompanied our remarks to the convincing of two or three. Baptisms will follow soon.
