A native woman named Sister Haddews, who served as a waiting maid in Burdwan, had suffered from pains for four years. She was anointed with oil by Brother S. A. Woolley, and the pains left her.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 16, No. 36, 9 September 1854, p. 573):
Sister Haddews, a native woman, who has been a waiting maid in Burdwan for some time, and who has been suffering from pains for four years, was anointed with oil by Elder S. A. Woolley, and the pains left her.
In Their Own Words
“After this, while I was here the first time, I anointed a native woman, who had been afflicted with pains for four-years. She was sister Haddews, (waiting maid,) and lives at Burdwan also, and the pains left her, but she would not leave her caste. — Millennial Star 16:36”
