Sister Eden of the Pendlebury Branch had been an invalid for twelve years and her life was despaired of prior to her baptism. Subsequent to her baptism, both she and her son were healed through the ordinance of anointing with oil and the laying on of hands by the Elders, and she has since enjoyed better health than ever before.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 42, No. 9 (1 March 1880), p. 141):
Sister Eden of the Pendlebury Branch had been an invalid for twelve years and her life was despaired of prior to her baptism. Subsequent to her baptism, both she and her son were healed through the ordinance of anointing with oil and the laying on of hands by the Elders, and she has since enjoyed better health than ever before.
In Their Own Words
“I may here state that the power of healing was marvellously exemplified in the case of Sister Eden and her son, of the Pendlebury Branch. Before her baptism her life was despaired of, having been an invalid for twelve years, but since then she has enjoyed better health than ever before. Both herself and son were healed by the power of God, through the ordinance of anointing with oil and the laying on of the hands of the elders. — Millennial Star 42:9”
