While Orson Hyde and Heber C. Kimball were traveling on a ship to England, one of the passengers had a sick child. The parents felt the child was about to die, but Elder Kimball laid his hands on the child without being perceived and prayed for it. The child was immediately delivered and recovered completely, which the parents acknowledged as the power of God.
In Their Own Words
“We saw a sick child on board the ship, and the parents were so discouraged that they expected it to die: But Elder Kimball laid his hands on the child without being perceived and prayed for the child and it recovered soon and got entirely well; and the parents acknowledged that it was the power of God that healed it. — Latter Day Saints' Messenger and Advocate 3:11”
