Healing of John Powell in South Normanton

John Powell of the South Normanton Branch suffered from intense inflammation in his ear which caused unbearable pain and rendered him unable to sleep for four days. Elders Sutton and Reader visited him, laid their hands on his head, and rebuked the pain. Within thirty minutes, the pain had vanished and he was fully restored to health.

Brother John Powell, of the South Normanton Branch, had been suffering for four days with intense inflammation in his ear, which caused him such unbearable pain that he could not sleep. Elders Sutton and Reader visited him, and after laying their hands upon his head and rebuking the pain, he was, in less than thirty minutes, entirely free from it, and has since been restored to health.

“Brother John Powell, of South Normanton Branch of the Nottingham Conference, sends us, under date of 3rd inst., an account of a miraculous healing. He had been suffering from an inflammation in his ear which was almost unbearable, and he was deprived of sleep for four days. As if in direct answer to his prayer, Elders Sutton and Reader soon after called upon him, and at his request laid their hands upon his head and rebuked the pain. Within less than half an hour the pain was entirely gone, and he was restored to health. He acknowledges the goodness of God, and testifies that his faith is greatly strengthened by the power made manifest in his behalf. — Millennial Star 45:12”
