A baby in a family living near to an unnamed Latter-day Saint sister in Doncaster was extremely ill and expected to die at any moment. The sister suggested calling the elders, who administered to the child. Following the administration, the baby fell into a sound sleep, slept through the night, and was up and running around the next morning when the doctor arrived. The doctor was surprised and suggested continuing his medicine, but the parents attributed the recovery to the power of God.

Fuller account of this event (as retold in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 71, No. 9 (March 4, 1909), p. 139):

The baby in a family living near to one of our sisters was very sick. Its death was expected every minute. Our sister suggested that the elders of our Church be sent for that they might administer to the little one. This was done. After the servants of the Lord had administered to the suffering child, it went to sleep and slept soundly all night. It was up and running around the next morning when the doctor called. He was greatly surprized, and told the parents that if they would continue to give the child the same medicine he had prescribed it would soon be all right. They knew it was not his medicine but the power of God that had restored their child, and they gave the praise to the Great Physician.
