Harriet Rogan's Answered Prayer and Conversion

Harriet Rogan, a widow struggling with poverty, poor health, and spiritual dissatisfaction after years of searching through various churches, prayed earnestly for guidance and for a way to earn a living. A year later, two LDS elders arrived at her door seeking rooms. She rented them the rooms, and through listening to them and reading their literature, she found the 'something' she had been seeking and was baptized in the Sheffield conference.
The baptism took place on Sunday, November 30, 1913, at the Latter-day Saints' Chapel in Pitsmoor, Sheffield, during the Sheffield semi-annual conference.
In Their Own Words
“Now, all through these years of dissatisfaction, I repeatedly raised my heart to God in humble prayer that He would lead me, and show me the way to go. I was miserable, not caring as I should what came or what went; I wanted something I had not. I knew well enough what it was; but did not know where to go to find it. ... At the end of twelve months' widowhood, as I sat studying about the way I should take, a knock came at my door: I answered it, and found two gentlemen seeking rooms. ... After a few days I took to noticing them, and listened to their talk, and then read their literature, and found that they had the something I wanted. ... I was baptized November 30th, 1913, at the Sheffield conference, by Elder Joseph E. Wood, one of the elders who came to me for rooms. — Harriet Rogan, in Millennial Star 76:27”
