While serving as a missionary in the Bristol Conference, H. E. Bowring felt a clear spiritual impression to visit the locality of East Coker. Acting on this prompting resulted in the baptism of three individuals, the blessing of four children, and the organization of a new branch of the Church in that area.
Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):
I have been laboring in the Bristol Conference for the past six months, and have enjoyed my labors very much. I have traveled a great deal, and have been blessed with the Spirit of the Lord in my ministrations. On the occasion of my last visit to that place, the spirit plainly told me to go, and the result was the baptism of three persons, blessing four children, and organizing the Branch before mentioned. I feel that the Lord is with us, and that He is blessing our efforts to spread the truth in this part of the vineyard.
In Their Own Words
“On the occasion of my last visit to that place, the spirit plainly told me to go, and the result was the baptism of three persons, blessing four children, and organizing the Branch before mentioned. — Millennial Star 50:24”
