While preaching in Aalborg, Denmark, under opposition and mob violence, Elder George P. Dykes experienced manifestations of the Holy Spirit that provided him with comfort and allowed him to look forward to a better day during a period of persecution and physical hardship in the winter of 1850-1851.
In Their Own Words
“I was met with dreary manifestations of the Holy Spirit, which enabled me to see forward to a better day; but under these gloomy circumstances, I began in faith to lift my warning voice to a very superstitious people, and the spirit that had for ages appeared to bind the people to the traditions of their fathers. — Millennial Star 13:11”
