Erastus Snow's Dream Concerning Baptisms in Denmark

After Rev. Peter C. Monster warned his flock against the Latter-day Saint missionaries, some members who desired baptism were hesitant. Elder Erastus Snow was initially cautious, urging them to investigate further, but was shown in a dream that it was acceptable to the Lord to baptize those who had applied. Consequently, he proceeded with the baptisms on August 12, 1850.

In his journal, Erastus Snow notes that after he and his companions moved to the residence of Rasmus Petersen at Gammeltorv No. 37, he was working on the Danish translation of Orson Pratt's pamphlet, 'Remarkable Visions,' shortly before the scheduled conference on August 16, 1850. Scholarly research by Val G. Hemming also clarifies that while Peter O. Hansen arrived in Copenhagen on May 11, 1850, and Snow followed on June 14 with John Erik Forsgren and George Parker Dykes, it was this combined missionary team that met with Peter C. Mønster, leading to the baptism of the fifteen members on August 12, 1850.
