Elder N. H. promised a group of elders, including G. C. Ferguson, that if they lived their religion in their new conference assignments, they would be more blessed than they had ever been before. G. C. Ferguson later testified that he saw this promise fulfilled in his experience as President of the Whitechapel Branch, even amidst trials.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 29, No. 30, 27 July 1867, p. 476):

Elder N. H. promised a group of elders, including G. C. Ferguson, that if they lived their religion in their new conference assignments, they would be more blessed than they had ever been before. G. C. Ferguson later testified that he saw this promise fulfilled in his experience as President of the Whitechapel Branch, even amidst trials.

In Their Own Words

“Elder N.—H. told all of us on receiving our new appointments, that if we lived our religion we would be more blessed than we had ever been before, and I can say with truth the promise has thus far been verified in my case. — Millennial Star 29:30”
