Elder Lorenzo Snow, laboring among the Waldenses, records being pursued for a considerable distance by a group of fellows who threw stones at him. He attributes his survival and safety to divine protection, noting that the Lord has preserved him from those who sought his hurt.
In Their Own Words
“The past year has been a remarkable one to me, as well as to the Church in this country. I have been labouring one year among the Waldenses, during which time I have become somewhat acquainted with their condition, manners, and customs. Knowing the importance of the work of God, which is now occupying a prominent position in the world, claiming the attention of the learned, I forward you the following account of my mission in this country. The Lord has been with me in my ministerial duties, but has preserved me from those who have sought my hurt. There has been a very narrow escape from the malice of enemies. One day as I was returning from the place where I had been preaching, I was pursued, for a considerable distance, by a company of fellows, who cast stones at me, and threatened my life. — Millennial Star 16:13”
