Ebenezer Beesley (14 December 1840 – 21 March 1906) was a Latter-day Saint hymn writer and composer who wrote the music for twelve of the hymns in the 1985 Latter-day Saint hymnal and served as conductor of the Tabernacle Choir (1880–1885). An English convert who gathered to Utah, Brother Beesley consecrated his gift of music to the worship of the Lord, and for generations the Saints have sung his settings in the Spirit of worship. His life is a faith-promoting witness of the Saints who, with the gifts the Lord has given them, have put music into the mouth of Zion and helped the whole body of the Saints to sing the song of redeeming love.
