Danish Saints Receive Spiritual Manifestations Following Baptism

Following the baptism of converts in Copenhagen, the Saints of the Most High experienced the pouring out of the Holy Spirit and witnessed manifestations including dreams and visions.

Fuller account of this event (as retold in Scandinavian jubilee album : issued in commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the introduction of the gospel to the three Scandinavian countries by Elder Erastus Snow and fellow laborers):

On Monday, the 12th of August, 1850, the holy ordinance was performed in the waters of Oresund, by Elder Erastus Snow. He had learnt some Danish by this time, and uttered the impressive words: 'Ole Ulrich Christian Menster, Med Fuldmagt fra Jesu Christum dober jeg dig i Faderens, Sonnens og den Helligaands Navn. Amen.' O. U. C. Menster (not the previously mentioned Rev. Monster) was the first one baptized. He was followed by others, and before the end of the year, a branch of the Church was organized in Copenhagen. The work spread rapidly, and the Saints were blessed with many spiritual manifestations, including dreams, visions, and the gift of tongues, which served to confirm their faith and strengthen them in the face of opposition.
