Seventeen new converts were baptized into the Leeds Conference on December 1st, 1900, after persistent missionary efforts. The reporting Elder noted this as an 'unusual harvest' of spiritual success.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 62, No. 50 (13 December 1900), p. 811):
Leeds Conference.—On Sunday, December 2nd, 1900, a baptismal service was held at the Leeds baths, when seventeen souls were added to the Church by baptism, Elder Benson officiating.
In Their Own Words
“On the first of this month seventeen of such swelled the membership of the Leeds Conference. The Elders here, whose efforts are untiring, have always been blessed with good crops; but this is an unusual harvest, and we feel that business is very profitable. — Millennial Star 62:50”
