Christine, a young girl living in poverty with her siblings, is reunited with her long-lost father who has returned to her. Her father explains that he has been converted to the LDS faith through the missionary work of Mr. Franson and Christine's own letters and testimony. They plan to move to Utah.

Fuller account of this event (as retold in The Young Woman's Journal, vol. 38 no. 11 (November 1927)):

Through a whirling mist of quick tears, Christine saw two men enter. She was lifted into the strong arms of the elder and she heard a deep voice speaking brokenly: ‘My little girl! My little baby girl! I have come to you, and to your wonderful faith. Your angel mother’s prayers have been answered through your letters and the work of this missionary who came to your assistance and helped to open my blinded eyes.’ It was her father, and with him was Mr. Franson, the missionary who had been the instrument in the hands of the Lord in bringing the wanderer back to the fold. The story of his conversion was a simple one. He had been living in a distant state, discouraged and alone, when he received a letter from his little daughter, Christine, telling him of her love and of the gospel she had learned to cherish. He had read it again and again, and then, as if in answer to his need, Mr. Franson had come to his door. The missionary had told him of the restored gospel, and as he listened, the father’s heart had been touched. He had read the letters from his children, and the testimony of his little girl had been the final influence that led him to repentance. Now, they were to be reunited, and the family, so long separated, was to be gathered together in the valleys of the mountains, where they could live in peace and serve the Lord.
