Christina Willardson heard beautiful singing in the Manti Temple during dedicatory services before the choir began. She also saw a halo of light around a brother while he was speaking in the temple and again at the Salt Lake Temple capstone laying.

A contemporary report by George Teasdale, published in the Millennial Star (vol. 50, no. 26), confirms that the heavenly singing occurred on the first day of the dedication while Professor Smyth was concluding a selection from Mendelssohn. Teasdale corroborates that numerous Saints in the congregation and brethren in the west stand heard the voices, which they perceived as angelic and coming from behind and above them. He further notes that this manifestation was part of a larger 'heavenly feast' experienced by the Saints throughout the three days of the dedication, during which some also reported seeing the spirits of past Church leaders.

In Their Own Words

“I was privileged to attend the dedicatory services of the Manti Temple, and the first day just before the opening hymn I heard some beautiful singing in some other part of the building. Sarah A. Peterson, wife of President Peterson, and I sat together, and both wondered where it was. Just then the choir began to sing. I think it was the second day services I saw a halo of light around one of the brethren when he was speaking, and at the laying of the capstone of the Salt Lake Temple I saw a halo of light over the same brother when speaking there. — Christina Willardson, The Young Woman's Journal”
