Brother S. Shepherd Is Healed by Touching Elder Mitchell's Clothes, and Mitchell Feels Virtue Leave Him at Darnall (1847)

While Elder Mitchell was preaching at Darnall about the gift of the Holy Ghost, the Spirit rested upon him. Brother S. Shepherd, feeling ill, resolved that he could be restored by touching Mitchell's clothes. Mitchell felt virtue leave him at that moment and declared Shepherd whole in the name of Jesus, after which Shepherd was immediately healed.

While preaching at Darnall on the gift of the Holy Ghost, and the necessity of its being enjoyed now, that Spirit rested upon me powerfully; Brother S. Shepherd was taken very ill, and he thought within himself, if I can but touch his clothes I shall be restored; he did as he thought, and he told me; for I felt virtue go from me at the time; at which I said, be ye whole in the name of the Lord Jesus, and according to his faith it was done directly.
