The Bolyn Children Recover of Scarlet Fever After Their Father and Elders Dunn and Burgess Administer to Them at Sheffield (1849)

The children of brother and sister Bolyn were healed of scarlet fever after being administered to by their father and Elders Dunn and Burgess.

Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):

Brother and sister Bolyn, of Sheffield, had their children taken with the scarlet fever. They were very bad, and the doctor had given them up. They put the medicine away, and procured some olive oil which was consecrated by elders Dunn, Burgess, and myself, and was then administered by the father, and the disease left her that same hour. The next day she was playing about the house. Their little boy was then seized, and was very bad, and the father and mother were much alarmed; they administered the same medicine, and the boy was restored the same day; another of the family was then seized, and they administered the same medicine, (olive oil,) which produced an instantaneous cure.
