A man who had been bedfast for two years with rheumatism was visited by Elder Andrew L. Rogers. The man had great faith he would recover, and after Elder Rogers and his companion administered to him, the pain left immediately, allowing him to sit up on the edge of the bed unassisted for the first time in many months.
Fuller account of this event (as retold in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 71, No. 40 (1909), p. 637):
While out tracting, he met a girl who asked him to visit her father who had been bedfast for two years with rheumatism. He was in a bad condition; the doctor had said that he never would get up, but he had great faith that he would. Elder Rogers and his companion administered to him. On visiting him a few days later they found him steadily recovering. He told them that as soon as they had administered to him the pain left him and he was able to raise himself up and sit on the edge of the bed without assistance—something he had not been able to do for many months.
