A convert was baptized in the North Sea at Blyth by Elder W. L. Edwards. Although the weather had been very disagreeable for the earlier part of the day, when the baptism took place in the late afternoon, the wind subsided, the sun came out, and the sea calmed down, providing favorable conditions for the ordinance.
In Their Own Words
“Another convert was initiated into the fold of Christ at Blyth (Newcastle conference), Wednesday, October 13th, 1909. The baptism was performed by Elder W. L. Edwards, in the North Sea, and although the weather was most disagreeable during the forepart of the day, yet in the late afternoon, when the baptism took place, the wind subsided, the sun came out and the sea calmed down so that everything was most favorable for the sacred occasion. — Millennial Star 71:42”
