While preaching in the Southern States, John W. Taylor held a meeting in a house that had been gifted to him by a local believer, which he dubbed 'Liberty Church.' When a mob gathered to remove the house, Taylor preached to the crowd and baptized a man named Father Turner. At the water's edge, Taylor prophesied that Father Turner would be a father to the people yet to be converted in that area.
In Their Own Words
“He held his meeting to a crowded audience, in a house proffered to him, together with an acre of land on which it stood, as a free donation, for the purpose of preaching in. He accepted it, and named it "Liberty Church," and blessed the father to the people yet to be converted in that place. Such afterwards Brother Turner was President of a Branch of eighteen members. — Millennial Star 47:44”
