Anonymous Elder's healing through the laying on of hands

“The author of this paper can testify that he himself has been raised up from the bed of affliction through the administration of the ordinance of the laying on of hands. He knows it to be true therefore that these gifts and blessings are in the church, and he is willing to meet all who shall read these words before the bar of God, in the morning of the resurrection, to answer for this testimony. It is a common thing for the world to say that these things are done away, and that the age of miracles has passed, but the Saints of the Most High know better. They have felt the power of God, and have seen the sick restored to health, the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, through the exercise of that faith which was once delivered to the Saints. These are not mere idle tales, but facts which have been demonstrated in the experience of thousands who have embraced the Gospel in these latter days. The Lord is the same yesterday, to-day, and forever, and He is just as willing to bless His people now as He was in the days of old, if they will only exercise the same faith and live in accordance with His commandments.”
