Gordon B. Hinckley — Revelation for the Call of Russell M. Nelson and Dallin H. Oaks

In April 1984, prior to General Conference, President Spencer W. Kimball was in failing health. Gordon B. Hinckley, the only healthy member of the First Presidency at the time, sought guidance regarding the filling of vacancies in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. During a moment of clarity, President Kimball instructed him to call Russell M. Nelson and Dallin H. Oaks to the Quorum of the Twelve, in that order.
