While on her honeymoon at Bear Lake, Alta Mathiason Bronson had an intense spiritual experience while swimming at night. She described a sensation of melting into the night, feeling the ripple of water become the sound of myriad angels' wings, and a profound realization that she could reach out and touch hands with God.
In Their Own Words
“I lay flat on my back and looked up at the jeweled dome above us. It was the strangest feeling! For a moment I almost lost my identity. I seemed to melt into that vast beautiful night about me. Jack's long arms cut the water gently and a ripple ran over the surface. It became the soft whirr of myriad wings—angels’ wings brushing by me and suddenly I felt I had only to reach up and touch hands with God.”
