A woman recounts a moment of spiritual realization when her child was struck by a sudden, severe illness in a remote area without medical or neighborly assistance. She found comfort and a profound spiritual thrill in the knowledge that her husband held the power of the Holy Priesthood, which she knew God would recognize in behalf of their child.

In Their Own Words

“My child was suddenly stricken with illness. My husband and I were alone, far from medical or even neighborly assistance. Suddenly I realized that he possessed the power of the Holy Priesthood—a power which God would recognize in behalf of our child. That knowledge thrilled my soul as nothing else could do. — The Young Woman's Journal 39:2”
