Abraham H. Cannon — Financial Provision through John Beck

In 1891, Abraham H. Cannon was under extreme financial distress due to the economic pressures of the time and his heavy involvement in Church-related business enterprises, including the 'Juvenile Instructor' and various publishing efforts. He spent a night in fervent prayer, asking for a specific amount of money to meet a looming debt that threatened his livelihood and reputation. The following day, a businessman and fellow Church member, John Beck (known for the Bullion-Beck mine), approached Cannon without solicitation. Beck informed Cannon that he felt a strong impression that Abraham needed financial help and handed him the exact sum Cannon had requested in prayer. Cannon recorded this as a direct and miraculous answer to his petition.
