During a secret LDS retreat disguised as a 'Yoga camp' in the 1980s, the group was subjected to a sudden inspection by the Secret Police (StB). The members had been prompted to keep their religious materials and scriptures hidden or to speak of them only in philosophical terms. Despite a thorough investigation into the group's activities and the presence of many young people, the police officers were 'blinded' to the religious nature of the camp. They left without finding any incriminating evidence of illegal religious worship, allowing the Saints to continue their secret gospel training undisturbed.
