Jiří Šnederfler — The Preservation of the Czech Book of Mormon

Jiří Šnederfler, a faithful member during the decades of the Communist ban, spent years working in secret to translate and prepare Church materials, including the Book of Mormon, into the Czech language. Because religious publishing was illegal, he had to hide his typewriter and manuscripts from the Secret Police, who frequently searched the homes of suspected religious dissidents. Through what he described as divine protection and sustenance, he was able to complete and preserve the translation work throughout the era of oppression, ensuring that a modern translation was ready for the mission to open in 1990.
