Olga Kovářová — Protection During Secret Baptism

Bibliography Research
In July 1983, Olga Kovářová committed to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, an act that was illegal and carried the risk of imprisonment under the Communist government. To evade the secret police (StB), Olga and a small group of Saints traveled to a public reservoir near Brno. They maintained the appearance of a casual swimming outing to avoid suspicion. Under the cover of the water and the protection of the Lord, Otakar Vojkůvka performed the baptism. Olga described a profound sense of peace and divine preservation, as they were able to complete the ordinance and depart without detection by authorities.
