Charles A. Callis — Preservation in the Coalville Mines

Between the ages of 16 and 27, Charles A. Callis worked in the coal mines of Coalville, Summit County, Utah, to support his widowed mother and siblings. During these eleven years of labor in a high-risk industry, he was 'miraculously preserved' from the frequent and often fatal accidents that occurred in the mines.
