Anson Vasco Call (1855–1944), grandson of the elder Anson Call, recorded a testimony of divine protection in a letter sent to Wilford Woodruff in 1883. In the correspondence, Call detailed an experience where his life was 'miraculously preserved.' While the specific physical circumstances of the danger are not fully detailed in the summary of the Wilford Woodruff Papers, the account was formally submitted as a faith-promoting testimony of God's intervention to save his life during his years as a pioneer and settler in the Utah Territory.
