Morgan Richards — Miraculous Preservation of the Ship Marshfield

During the 1854 voyage from Liverpool to New Orleans, the ship Marshfield, carrying Morgan Richards, his wife Harriet, and their young son Morgan Jr., encountered a severe storm in the Atlantic. The manuscript-sourced account by Mary Richards McInelly details how the Saints on board, including Richards, united in prayer as the vessel was buffeted by the gale. The storm abated, and the ship was preserved from destruction, arriving safely in New Orleans on May 29, 1854.
