Priesthood healing of Mary Aikens Smith (Parowan)

Jesse Nathaniel Smith recorded that his mother, Mary Aikens Smith, became dangerously ill while the family was in Parowan, Southern Utah. Sources variously describe the timing as during their early years in Parowan and one journal entry gives the year 1857. Jesse and other elders administered to her by the laying on of hands and the prayer of faith; she was immediately blessed and experienced a remarkable recovery. Jesse cited this restoration as a primary testimony of the power of the priesthood which he had witnessed since his youth.
