Hannah Terry — Healing from Ague in Nauvoo

During the Saints' residence in Nauvoo, Hannah Terry was stricken with a severe case of 'the ague' (malaria), which was common in the area. The manuscript history records that she was so debilitated by the chills and fever that she was unable to care for her family or prepare for the impending exodus. After being administered to by the Priesthood, she experienced a remarkable medical reversal, regaining her strength almost immediately. This healing was viewed by the family as a direct intervention that allowed her to survive the subsequent forced departure from Illinois in 1846.
