Elder David A. Bednar: An Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ (born 1952)

Elder David Allan Bednar (born 15 June 1952) was sustained as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 2 October 2004. A faithful disciple and teacher, he has taught the doctrines of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, the enabling strength of Christ's grace, the role of the Holy Ghost, and the spiritual gifts of the faithful with particular power. His apostolic ministry is a faith-promoting witness of the Lord's living apostles in our day—special witnesses of the name of Christ, sent as were the Twelve of old to build up the Church and carry the gospel to every nation.
