Claude T. Barnes: A Utah Naturalist Who Found the Divine in God's Creatures (1881–1968)

Claude T. Barnes (1881–1968) was a Utah naturalist and writer whose lifelong observation of the wildlife and wild places of the Intermountain West has been remembered by the Latter-day Saint historian Davis Bitton in 'Claude T. Barnes, Utah Naturalist.' A faithful Latter-day Saint, Brother Barnes wrote of the animals and landscapes of the Utah scene with the patient, wondering eye of one who saw the Lord's hand in His creation. His life is a quiet, faith-promoting witness that the study of God's creatures—done with reverence—can itself be a form of worship and testimony of the Creator.
