Missouri Persecutions Described in Detail Through the Gift of Tongues
Contributed by
Benjamin Brown (autobiography)
During the Missouri persecutions of the Latter-day Saints around 1838, the sufferings and trials being inflicted upon the Missouri Saints were described in vivid and accurate detail through the gift of tongues and interpretation of tongues — before the full news of those events had reached those present. This miraculous foreknowledge through spiritual gifts served as a witness of divine awareness of the Saints' suffering and the reality of the gifts of the Spirit.
