After Benjamin Brown was baptized into the Church and began preaching, he developed cancer. He was miraculously healed of the cancer through the power of God, either by faith or through the ministry of Joseph Smith and the priesthood. This healing was a powerful sign of divine approval upon his conversion and calling to preach the gospel.
