Heavens Opened at Meetings in Kirtland - Saints United in Song, Prophecy, and Blessing

During the spring and summer of 1836 in Kirtland, the Saints experienced a general time of rejoicing that lasted for several months. They frequently met from house to house to break bread, drink wine together, and administer to the poor and afflicted. At these gatherings, the brethren and sisters blessed one another, and the Holy Ghost was poured out upon them. At one family blessing meeting at Dr. Frederick G. Williams' home, there was weeping and rejoicing among the family members as Father John Young was blessed and the spirit of God touched all present. Caroline noted that she and her husband also attended blessing meetings where the gifts of the Spirit were manifest. These were times of great spiritual outpouring, with the Saints testifying of God's love and care for them through His Holy Ghost.
