Kirtland Temple Dedication - Healings, Casting Out of Devils, Tongues and Interpretation

On March 27, 1836, the Kirtland Temple was dedicated in a glorious outpouring of the Holy Ghost. According to Caroline Crosby's eyewitness account, the dedication was continued for several days, during which time the spirit of God was manifested in remarkable and unmistakable ways. The sick were healed, devils were cast out of afflicted individuals, and many spoke in tongues with interpretation of those divine utterances. The Saints present experienced glorious preaching that cheered and animated their hearts. Caroline wrote that she often wished her friends, parents, brothers and sisters could have heard the things she heard and had their hearts made to rejoice as hers did. This was one of the great spiritual outpourings of the early Church, witnessed by many and recorded as a testament to God's power in the Restoration.
