In December 1835, Angeline Works lay dying, so gravely ill that she could not even recognize her friends and family members. Her condition appeared to be terminal.

According to Joseph Smith's personal journal account, the Lord gave him the power to immediately heal Angeline Works. The healing was miraculous and instantaneous, returning her from the brink of death to full recovery.

This account demonstrates the power of priesthood healing in cases of terminal illness and the faith required to access such healing power.
