Finding Strength in the Rejoice in Christ LDS Youth Theme
As we look toward the future of our youth programs, the announcement of the 2027 Rejoice in Christ LDS youth theme brings a spirit of hope and renewal to families across the globe. Based on the scripture found in Philippians 4:4, this theme serves as a powerful reminder that our joy is anchored in the Savior, Jesus Christ. By focusing on this message, young people are encouraged to cultivate a lasting Spiritual Conversion that sustains them through the challenges of life.
Embracing the Rejoice in Christ LDS Youth Theme
The Rejoice in Christ LDS youth theme is more than just a motto; it is a call to action for the rising generation to center their thoughts and deeds on the Redeemer. When youth choose to align their hearts with this theme, they open themselves to the quiet, persistent guidance of the Holy Ghost. Whether they are navigating the pressures of school or seeking direction for their future, the Rejoice in Christ LDS youth theme provides a spiritual compass. Many young people have found that when they actively seek to rejoice in the Lord, they experience the Power of Prayer in profound ways, receiving answers that bring peace to their troubled hearts.
Miracles and Guidance in Youth
The journey of faith is often marked by moments of divine intervention. We see this clearly in the lives of young missionaries who, while serving in the United States and abroad, rely on the Savior to open doors and soften hearts. These Missionary experiences are often the result of youth who have internalized the principles found in themes like the Rejoice in Christ LDS youth theme. By trusting in the Lord, they witness miracles that strengthen their testimonies and the testimonies of those they serve. These stories of faith remind us that the Lord is intimately involved in the lives of our youth, providing protection and delivering them from harm when they look to Him.
As we study the New Testament throughout 2027, the Rejoice in Christ LDS youth theme will undoubtedly serve as a catalyst for deeper study and more meaningful worship. We invite all to explore these testimonies and reflect on how the Savior’s light can transform their daily lives, helping them to find true joy regardless of their circumstances.
Announced by an Apostle: The Voices behind the Theme
On September 1, 2026, President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, announced "Rejoice in Christ" from Temple Square as the theme of the Salt Lake Temple Celebration — and, with it, the 2027 youth theme of the Church, drawn from Philippians 4:4. The celebration, running April 5 through October 1, 2027, will accompany the reopening of the Salt Lake Temple after its seven-year renovation.
"We invite the world — everyone, hundreds of thousands of people, millions of people. We expect 5 million people to come and see and enjoy this wonderful experience — what the temple, the house of the Lord, represents." — President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman rejoiced that the theme would reach every young person: "We just had the announcement of the Churchwide, worldwide theme 'Rejoice in Christ,' and that is also going to be the youth theme this year. [It] will be this 'Rejoice in Christ' from Philippians 4:4 all year long."
Primary General President Rosemary K. Chibota added: "Everyone is invited. We invite you to come and tour the temple. But this is more than touring a remarkable building, it is about coming closer to Jesus Christ."
For youth preparing to carry the Rejoice in Christ LDS youth theme through a full year of FSY conferences, festivals, and activities, the apostolic invitation is simple: rejoicing in Christ is not a feeling reserved for good days, but a covenant practice of turning toward Him.
