How the New Dedicate Video Series LDS Young Adults Are Using to Deepen Temple Faith
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has recently unveiled a compelling new resource for members worldwide. The six-part video series titled Dedicate offers a unique, intimate look at the role of temples in the lives of young adults today. By following seven participants from diverse nations—including Brazil, France, Ghana, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, and the United States—the series explores the profound significance of the Salt Lake Temple renovation and the eternal nature of temple covenants. As we look toward the upcoming public open house of the Salt Lake Temple in 2027, this series serves as a spiritual bridge for those seeking to understand the house of the Lord more deeply. For many, the temple is not just a building, but a sanctuary of peace and a place of Sacred Places / Holy significance where they can find clarity amidst the noise of the world.
The series has already begun to resonate with viewers who are navigating their own questions of faith and purpose. During the premiere screening at the Legacy Theater on Temple Square, the authenticity of the participants was highlighted as a key strength. Sister Runia, who attended the screening, noted the impact of this vulnerability, stating, It changed me just listening to their testimonies and their questions and their concerns and the way that they felt about the temple experience. That honesty, I think, is engaging. This sentiment is echoed by the participants themselves, who hope their journeys will help others feel less alone in their spiritual inquiries. Alex Cazier, a participant from Alabama, shared his perspective on the project, saying, I just want people to feel seen and know that there are people in the world who have similar questions to them. I learned that each of our stories are so important and we can help others come unto the Savior through being our authentic selves.
For many young adults, the temple is a place where they find refuge during life's most difficult trials. Favour Onyinyechukwu Okeke, a participant from Ghana, captured this feeling perfectly in the series trailer: When I feel burdened, the place I run to is the temple. This reliance on the house of the Lord is a common theme found in our TESTIMONIES archive, where members frequently recount how temple attendance has provided them with the strength to endure personal hardships. Whether it is finding comfort after a loss or seeking direction for a major life decision, the temple acts as a beacon of hope. Such experiences are often accompanied by the Holy Ghost / Guidance and Direction that comes when we align our lives with the covenants made within those sacred walls.
Church leaders have emphasized that this series is part of a broader effort to prepare the world for the Salt Lake Temple Celebration. Elder Stevenson explained the vision behind the project, stating, As we invite the world to the Salt Lake Temple Celebration beginning in April 2027, our hearts turn to those who may not be able to attend with us in person. One way we hope all nations shall flow unto this house of the Lord is through Dedicate. This initiative aligns with the broader TEACHINGS of the Church regarding the importance of temple work and the gathering of Israel. As we study these Spiritual Conversion stories, we are reminded that the temple is a place where miracles occur, often in the quiet moments of reflection and covenant-keeping.
Throughout history, the Lord has provided miraculous ways for His children to access the blessings of the temple. We have documented many Temple Miracles where individuals have overcome seemingly impossible obstacles to receive their ordinances. Just as the participants in the Dedicate series are discovering, the path to the temple is often paved with small, faithful steps that lead to profound spiritual growth. As we continue to follow the release of these episodes, we invite you to reflect on your own relationship with the temple. Whether you are preparing for your first visit or have been attending for years, may this series inspire you to deepen your commitment to the covenants that bind us to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
