In 1862, a young woman in London, who had been saving for six years to emigrate to Zion, found herself short on funds for her betrothed's ticket. While walking to a meeting of the Saints and praying for assistance, she discovered coins lying on the path, one after another, until she had collected the exact amount required for his passage to Salt Lake City.

In Their Own Words

“She was walking for the last time to the meeting place of the Saints praying in her heart that God would open the way that the remaining money for her sweetheart’s ticket would be forthcoming. As she walked along with downcast eyes, she saw some money on the path at her feet. Picking it up she walked a few steps and there lay another piece, and so on for some distance she found pieces of coin until she had picked up the exact amount necessary to complete the passage money to Salt Lake City—no more no less. — The Young Woman's Journal 26:11”
