A young lady in St. Alban's, after having an interesting conversation with a missionary on the principles of the Gospel, prayed earnestly to the Lord. She subsequently had a dream where she saw a landscape and a person dressed in white who led her to a stream of water, stating, 'Now is your accepted time; now is the day of salvation.' Following this experience, she felt fully convinced of the truth and was baptized.

Fuller account of this event (as retold in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 36, No. 20 (19 May 1874), p. 317):

She told me, yesterday, that she went to bed on her return home, but was so troubled in her mind that she could not sleep. She knelt down and prayed earnestly to the Lord and asked him to make known unto her the right way; after which her mind became calm and settled; she fell into a kind of sleep and, while in that state, she saw a beautiful landscape spread out before her, and in the distance a person, dressed in white, approaching her. When this person came near enough to her, he took hold of her hand and led her along. Bye and bye they came to a stream of water, he looked at her and she saw his face which was calm and sweet. A peace pervaded her soul; he pointed to the water, saying as he did so, 'Now is your accepted time; now is the day of salvation.' After that she awoke, feeling fully convinced of the truth of the everlasting Gospel, as taught by the Elders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and therefore came to me last night and was baptized and went on her way rejoicing.
