The night before her baptism, Sister Sankey, the step-daughter of Brother Sankey, had a dream or vision in which it was shown to her that it was the will of God that she should be baptized, and that she should be baptized by Brother S. A. Woolley.
Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):
I will here relate a circumstance which occurred at Chinsurah, which shows that the Lord is mindful of His children, and that He is willing to reveal His mind and will to them. A sister, the step-daughter of Brother Sankey, had been investigating the principles of the Gospel for some time, and had felt a desire to be baptized, but had not made her feelings known to any one. The night before she was baptized, she had a dream or vision, in which it was shown to her that it was the will of God that she should be baptized, and that she should be baptized by Brother S. A. Woolley. This was in answer to my prayer, and also hers, as she said afterwards that she had it shown to her the night before she was baptized, in a dream or vision that it was the will of God, and that I was to baptize her.
In Their Own Words
“This was in answer to my prayer, and also hers, as she said afterwards that she had it shown to her the night before she was baptized, in a dream or vision that it was the will of God, and that I was to baptize her. — Millennial Star 16:36”
