While traveling on the S.S. Wisconsin, Sister Sarah Lowe of the Manchester Conference tripped and fell on September 20th, resulting in a dislocated shoulder. Although the bone was set, she suffered comparatively little pain and recovered nicely during the remainder of the sea voyage.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 50, No. 44, 29 October 1888, p. 698):

Sister Sarah Lowe, of the Manchester Conference, while on board the S.S. Wisconsin, on the 20th of September, tripped and fell, dislocating her shoulder. The bone was set, and she suffered comparatively little pain, and recovered nicely during the remainder of the voyage.

In Their Own Words

“Sept. 20th, Sister Sarah Lowe, of the Oldham Branch, Manchester Conference, tripped and fell, dislocating her shoulder bone. The ship doctor set the bone, and Sister Lowe, though a little sore, suffers comparative little pain, and is getting along very nicely. — Millennial Star 50:44”
